(SUDBURY, ON) The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a driver with dangerous operations and stunt driving.
On Friday December 5, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Sudbury Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E) Team of the OPP observed a vehicle travelling over 50 kilometre per hour (km/h) in a posted 90 km/h zone on Highway 17, Sudbury.
No injuries were reported when the driver attempted to avoid police and collided into a post.
As a result of the investigation, Jeffery SMITH, 36 years-of-age, from Markstay-Warren, was charged with, dangerous operation and drive motor vehicle perform stunt excessive speed
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday February 18, 2026, in Sudbury.
The driver was issued a 30-day Drivers Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
