On April 20, 2026, detectives with the Bail Compliance Unit charged 51-year-old Michael Currie with break and enter, theft of a motor vehicle, and several other offences.
Around 3:50 a.m. on March 11, 2026, 911 Communicators received a report of a break and enter at a business in the 600 block of Second Line West. An investigation revealed the accused broke into the business by damaging property with an object.
Shortly before 6:30 a.m. on April 6, 2026, 911 Communicators received a report of a break and enter at a business in the 300 block of Great Northern Road. An investigation revealed the accusedwhile covering their face with a balaclavabroke into the business by damaging property with an object and stole the cash register and other merchandise.
Around 3:20 a.m. on April 8, 2026, 911 Communicators received a report of a vehicle stolen from a business in the 100 block of West Street. An investigation identified the suspect as the accused.
Shortly before 4:00 a.m. on April 9, 2026, 911 Communicators received a report of an attempted break and enter at a business in the 1000 block of Great Northern Road. An investigation revealed the accused drove the stolen vehicle into a garage door belonging to the business but did not gain entry.
On April 20, 2026, detectives located and arrested the accused. The accused is charged with:

Theft of Motor Vehicle
Fail to Comply with Probation Order x4
Fail to Comply with Release Order Other Than to Attend Court x4
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
